Shadow box frames (or shadow boxes) are typically used to display objects or any tangible or three-dimensional item.  These deep, receded “box” frames are a wonderful way to display and protect many artifacts that were not initially intended to be framed.  Common materials like wood, metal or acrylic comprise shadowboxes, and museum glass or another high quality glass is typically used to enclose the frame.  The opportunities are endless for objects to frame in a shadow box.  Some common items include sculptures, clothing, ceramics, or jewelry.
